- Firstly TeamBinder has been developed by QA Software, the leaders in project document
control since 1995 in Australia.
- TeamBinder is a process based system. Documents are uploaded in a completely controlled
way, generally via email, and pass through a validation engine on the TeamBinder
server before being accepted into the document register. The simplicity of being
able to enter all the document attributes into an excel template off line and then
simply “send” from within Excel via email using inbuilt macros is one
of the main reasons that TeamBinder saves resources, rather than adds to the document
control burden. Uploaded documents are validated automatically via TeamBinder’s
business rules.
- TeamBinder has a document register rather than being built on the windows folder
paradigm.
- Drawings can be downloaded from email notifications without the need to log into
TeamBinder.
- TeamBinder has built in viewing and red lining without the need to download additional
software. Uploaded files are automatically converted to a common format on the TeamBinder
server and viewed via Internet Explorer.
- TeamBinder has a concept of trade packages which can be used to manage the process
of distributing drawings to subcontractors using Transmittal Notifications. This
is in addition to using TeamBinder’s integrated tendering software for trade
packages.
- For project communications, TeamBinder keeps a track of the correspondence thread
automatically meaning that a unique thread view is available to see the trail of
questions and answers.
- TeamBinder supports any number of correspondence types which can be configured per
project. This includes inbuilt workflow to manage default response periods for requests
for information for example.
- TeamBinder can be integrated to WebDocsPro or QDMS, two alternative document management
solutions from QA Software, giving existing customers the best of both worlds: A
document management system with full integration to a collaboration solution.
- TeamBinder can be self hosted by larger customers and fully branded to a corporate
image.
